The silence of the Zugertal valley

Cross-country skiing right on your doorstep

The most beautiful cross-country trail starts more or less right outside the Hotel Alpina and is a must-have for any winter holiday in Lech.
The access point is directly at the Alpina, and the trail runs westwards along the Lech river. It is meticulously groomed for both skating and classic cross-country skiing. Beyond the district of Zug, it becomes increasingly peaceful and quiet. Guests often agree that this is one of the finest cross-country trails anywhere.
What makes this trail into the Zugertal valley so special?
The scenery along the trail is wonderfully varied. Halfway along, which is also a great distance for less experienced skiers, stopping for a bite to eat at the Gasthaus Älpele is highly recommended. The trail continues towards Tannläger and Spullerwald, where you can tackle a gorgeous yet quite demanding loop. The return journey is downhill all the way, making the time fly by. There is also a lovely, shorter cross-country loop from Zürs to the Flexenpass and back.

A healthy balance
Guests and locals alike appreciate cross-country skiing as a wonderful complement to downhill skiing. As an ideal cardio and full-body workout, it engages your upper body muscles as well as your legs, while particularly strengthening your core. Your sense of balance and coordination will noticeably and steadily improve. After your workout, you can look forward to afternoon snacks back at the Alpina.
